In 1979 this classic design put Kimber Kable on the map. After improvements over time, Kimber's 4PR is still considered the reference for affordable loudspeaker cables. Millions of feet of this remarkable cable have been sold.  

4PR's eight-conductor construction consists of four brown and four black high-purity copper conductors that utilize Kimber Kable's proven braiding technique. The aggregate wire size is two 13 awg conductors.

Even the most basic systems, old and new, will benefit significantly from this legendary performer. When demonstrating Kimber Kable to a new dealer this cable is used with the most modest system available. With 4PR, the system performs as if costing twice as much. Bass and treble frequencies are allowed their full extension, while dynamics emerge unrestrained. The 4PR is also an excellent cable for professional and studio use due to its inherent ability to reject noise in any cable length.

The original Kimber Kable. Four copper conductors in PE dielectric per polarity for 13AWG (2.255mm²) Often bought as an initial launch into the “high end” and kept because it’s just too good for the money. 1/3rd the signal loss of conventional 13AWG parallel conductor designs. accuracy, pacing, proper imaging are the signature sounds of 4PR.

We recommend Kimber Kable 4PR for smaller concentric or 2-way stand mounted speakers and low to mid-powered amplifier combinations.  For mid-sized 2-way speakers, mid-powered amplifiers, or longer wire runs, we suggest moving up to the 8PR.
